American Society of Anesthesiologists Lawyers Attempt to Intimidate Dr. Barry Friedberg

Lawyers for the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) today have attempted to un-ring the bell of Dr. Barry Friedberg’s explosive poster on display in front of the Conrad Murray Michael Jackson manslaughter trial.

Without a brain monitor, anesthesia over-medication is a routine, sometimes lethal, practice.

Hospitals are playing the same kind of Russian roulette with our loved ones that Conrad Murray played with Michael Jackson.

Claiming to be a patient safety advocate, the ASA is unable to defend the over-medication death of one American patient every day for lack of using a $20 sensor for the BIS, found in 75% of US hospitals.

The ASA has yet to issue an explanation of why it took them 6 years to declare pulse oximetry a standard of care, despite being challenged publicly in 2009 by Dr. Friedberg.
